Do you really need to use a Toner?

Every skin care routine advice that you will get is - Cleanse. Tone and Moisturize which is the basic skincare routine that you should be doing.

Most people skip the part where they need to use a toner. Mostly believes that since they did cleansing toner is no longer necessary.

So let’s talk about Toners.

What exactly is a Toner and what does it do?

A Toner is a liquid substance that helps you to cleanse leftover makeup, dirt, and oil on your face. 

A Toner helps to restore the PH balance of your skin after cleansing. It also prevents the oil from getting clogged and keeps the oil production under control.

So, is a Toner really necessary?

The answer is--NO. Since most cleansers nowadays can do what toner does and if you’re sure that there are no impurities left on your skin after you cleanse it you can choose not to use a toner.

Remember, even though using a Toner is not really necessary, you can still use it. There’s no harm if you continue to use your Toner, it can definitely help your skin too as mentioned above. Just make sure that you’re using the right toner for the type of skin that you have.

Sensitive Skin: Hydrating toner that contains moisturizing ingredients like glycerin and hyaluronic acid
Oily/Acne-Prone Skin: The key ingredients to look for includes alpha and beta hydroxy acids such as salicylic acid, lactic acid and glycolic acid.

And if you want to use a Toner whatever skin type you have, look for Alcohol-free toners that contain antioxidants such as vitamin C.
