Brushing
Did you know that just like head hair, brushing brings benefits to lashes? Doing so twice a day helps stimulate lash growth. In fact, beauty gurus recommend to massage the lids in the slightest and gentlest way to improve blood circulation in the area so it brings nourishment and encourages growth of eyelashes. Brushing aids in delivering nutrients to your lashes and helps the follicles and your skin achieve better health.

Eat Healthy Diet
Of course, one should eat healthily so it shows on the outer portion of the body, lashes included. Having a proportioned diet consisting of protein and essential fatty acids may boost lash growth. Some sources can include salmon, eggs, beans, nuts, lean beef, chicken, turkey, tuna, and yogurt. Looking for a supplement? Take your daily dose of vitamins or Omega-3 but make sure to consult your doctor first.

Olive, Coconut, Castor and Jojoba oil
Lashes also need some moisturizers and oils that help retain enough moisture in them which strengthens the lashes from the roots. A secret tip that some beauty gurus do is to use lemon essential oil and combine it with olive oil (lemon olive oil). It’s like a magic elixir for the lashes! There are others who use coconut oil, castor oil, and jojoba oil as well. The trick here is to remove all makeup from your lashes, dampen a cotton ball or a pad with the oil, and apply enough amount on your lashes before sleeping. Make sure you remove this as soon as you wake up.

Lash-growth Serums
The markets now offer some kind of serum that are specifically made for the lashes. These promise boosting growth and strengthening the strands. Usually they contain biotin, peptides or lipids which all help hair growth and offer extra protection. Biotin (vitamin B) aims to stimulate growth of more lash hairs and improve condition of hair follicles on the lids. On the other hand, peptides act on the skin cells for healthier strang foundation. Lipids, of course, improve moisture for the lashes.

Eyelash Curler
Lastly, take note of how you curl your lashes. Don’t curl them any longer than 20 seconds or else they shorten your lashes eventually. We don’t want that, don’t we?
